Can induction sealing be used with metal caps?
A conventional through-cap induction application should not be assumed suitable for a metal closure because the cap can interact with the field and change where heat is generated.
Metal closure projects need a different application review.
A conventional induction sealer is normally specified to heat a foil liner through a non-metallic closure. A metal cap is itself conductive and can interact with the field, so it may heat in an uncontrolled or unwanted way and alter the energy reaching the liner. Do not place a metal-capped pack under a standard head without a purpose-designed assessment.
If the brand or product requires a metal cap, investigate whether a membrane can be sealed directly to the open container before the cap is applied, or whether a specialist closure system has documented compatibility. The final route must be confirmed by the cap, membrane and equipment suppliers using representative samples.

Separate the container material from the closure material.
A glass, PET, HDPE or PP container may be compatible with a suitable seal layer, but the metal closure still changes a through-cap induction application.

Why does the closure material affect the induction field?
Induction responds to conductive material. The intended conductive element is the aluminium foil liner, but a metal closure can also couple with the field and heat. That changes the thermal path and can make a standard through-cap setup unsuitable or unsafe to assume without a designed trial.
Is a glass bottle with a metal cap a standard induction application?
No. The glass bottle may accept a compatible heat-seal layer, but the metal cap remains the controlling concern for through-cap induction. Evaluate the closure and sealing sequence separately rather than treating glass as automatic evidence of compatibility.
What alternative should be considered when a metal cap is essential?
