Induction sealing for PET, HDPE, PP and glass bottles or jars
Induction sealing is not a one-size-fits-all process. PET, HDPE, PP and glass containers can all need different foil liner materials and machine settings. The safest route is to confirm the pack construction before sizing the sealer.
Container material changes the liner choice
A foil liner designed to bond to HDPE may not be correct for PET, PP or glass. The heat-seal layer must suit the container mouth material and the product environment.
Mouth finish and cap fit
The container mouth should be flat, clean and consistent. Poor moulding, damaged necks, product residue or incorrect cap torque can create channels that lead to leaks or partial seals.
Testing before production
Run samples at realistic line speed and check seal appearance, peel, leakage and repeatability after cooling. Keep settings and results recorded for each pack format.

The material name is only the first check. Resin grade, treatment, recycled content, moulding condition, rim geometry and supplier variation can influence the bond and pack behaviour.
| PET | Use a heat-seal layer specified for PET and inspect thin neck finishes for distortion, uneven rims or product residue. |

| HDPE | Confirm the liner is designed for HDPE and test representative moulded batches because rim flatness and stiffness can vary. |
| PP | Use a PP-compatible seal layer and check cap/container stiffness, especially on wide-mouth or lightweight formats. |
| Glass | Confirm the liner is suitable for the actual glass surface treatment and finish; do not assume a plastic-bottle liner will bond. |
